Institute of Singles Dynamics
Based in Kansas City, the heart of America
Don Davidson, Director
Founded in 1983, the Institute of Singles Dynamics (ISD) is an interdenominational organization dedicated to helping churches nationwide enhance their ministry with single adults. Our experiences range from building dynamic singles ministries at several churches to writing leadership materials for singles pastors and conducting leadership training workshops across the country.
The founder and director is Don Davidson. Don holds a B.A. from the University of Tulsa and a M. Div. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City. He has been the pastor of several churches in the midwest and highly involved in singles ministry for the past 25 years. Now semi-retired, he makes his home in  Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.

His book, How to Build an Exciting Singles Ministry, was published in 1993 by Thomas Nelson (Nashville) and was on the 1993 list of Most Recommended Books as compiled by the National Assoc. of Single Adult Leaders. The 204-page book provides nuts & bolts information on how to start and maintain an exciting singles ministry at the local church level. Guide to Singles Groups

Don has presented his all-day workshop entitled, How to Build an Exciting Singles Ministry to churches of various denominations across the county. The seminar touches all the bases on how to create an exciting singles ministry.  The seminar can be presented to the leaders of a particular local church or to a group of leaders. It can be done as a one-day event or coupled with a weekend singles retreat or conference to provide both, a Friday seminar for leaders and a Friday night/Saturday event for singles.

In addition to writing the above book and a companion booklet, 95 More Activities for Singles Groups, he has written for several of the leadings singles magazines in the USA, including Todays Single, Solo Magazine, Living Solo and Christian Single. And for 15 years he was the editor of the SAMI (Single Adult Ministry Information)  newsletter, America's first ecumenical newsletter for singles leaders that had subscribers on three continents. Plus, he has three other books in various stages of completion and consideration by publishers.

Don also created the SinglesMall.com, perhaps the most comprehensive site for singles and leaders on the net. Plus, he has published 11 editions of the Guide to Singles Groups in Kansas City (see above photo). In 1998 he was selected by Living Solo Magazine as one of top 50 singles leaders in the USA.

Don is now retired after serving as a minister for 45 years, over 15 as a pastor to singles. He continues to serve as a wedding officiant (having done over 700 weddings in his career). He also continues to offer seminars on several topics and organizes various day trips, overnights and overseas trips. In addition he continues to operate the SinglesMall.com and also created an online company that makes and sells unique holiday flags that make "faith statements" at certain holidays (www.flagsofthefaith.com). He also co-produced eight highly successful Singles Extravaganzas each year that averaged around 450 to 500 singles at a local DoubleTree Hotel.
