In
July 2007, Gena Rogers was
named editor in chief of CS
(formerly Christian
Single) magazine at
LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, Tenn. Before assuming this
position Gena was an editor of adult Bible study resources for
LifeWay. She started working at LifeWay in 1989 after earning a
bachelor’s degree in education from Belmont University. Since
starting at LifeWay she has also earned a master’s degree in
education from Belmont. Gena lives just south of Nashville with her
beloved Shih Tzu, Maki. “He makes it a joy to come home!” She is
also actively involved at The People’s Church in Franklin, Tenn.
A
single adult herself, Gena says, “I’m excited to be working in a
position where I can encourage, support, and challenge single adults
— an audience with which I can directly relate. I hope to continue
to guide the magazine in the direction of challenging single adults
to live out their faith in every aspect of their lives. Single adults
are not incomplete people. They may be single for a season or longer,
but either way they can lead full, active, productive lives and make
a difference in their corner of the world. They are not defined by
their marital status. They are adults first and single second. I
cherish the opportunity to treat them as such.”
